Yard maintenance covers both your lawn and garden areas in one service. Regular grass cutting keeps your lawn looking neat, while garden bed maintenance handles weeding, pruning, and seasonal tasks. We're not just a lawn service -- when we come to your property, we take care of everything that needs attention, from edging walkways to deadheading perennials.
The specific work varies by season and what your yard needs. Spring might focus on cleanup and bed preparation, while summer emphasizes grass cutting and garden maintenance. Fall brings leaf removal and winter preparation. We adjust what we do based on what your property needs at that time.
Scheduling Your Visits
Most Pickering homeowners book weekly visits during growing season (May through September) and seasonal cleanups in spring and fall. Weekly grass cutting keeps your lawn looking consistently maintained, while the garden work can be done as needed during those same visits.
Some properties do better with bi-weekly grass cutting if growth is slower, combined with more frequent garden maintenance. We'll recommend a schedule that makes sense for your yard and your budget after we see what you're working with.
Working with Pickering's Growing Conditions
Pickering yards have their own challenges -- from the heavy clay soils west of Brock Road to the newer fill in the Seaton developments. Waterfront properties near Frenchman's Bay deal with different moisture levels than the established neighbourhoods in Woodlands or Rougemount.

Seasonal Timing and Preparation
Spring cleanup typically happens in late March or early April, depending on when the snow melts and ground thaws. This is when we clear winter debris, cut back ornamental grasses, and prepare beds for the growing season. Spring is also the best time for major cleanup work if your yard got neglected over winter.
Fall cleanup happens after leaf drop but before the ground freezes -- usually late October to mid-November in Pickering. This includes leaf removal, final grass cutting, and preparing beds and plants for winter. Getting this done properly makes spring recovery much easier.
What to Expect from Our Team
You'll get the same two people -- Julian and Saad -- every visit. We show up when we say we will, we know your property and what it needs, and we handle both lawn and garden work in one visit. No coordinating multiple contractors or wondering who's coming to your house.
We bring our own equipment and handle all the cleanup and disposal. You don't need to bag leaves or haul away clippings -- we take care of everything and leave your yard looking maintained and your driveway clean.
Communication and Flexibility
We'll let you know when we're scheduled to come and will communicate if weather or other factors affect the schedule. If you need extra work done -- like preparing for a party or handling storm cleanup -- just call us. We're flexible and can usually accommodate reasonable requests.
You're not locked into a rigid contract. If your needs change or you want to adjust the schedule, we can work with that. The goal is maintaining your yard in a way that works for you and fits your budget.
